Hi everyone, welcome to the Green Iglu community portal!

This portal will be a space to connect with individuals along their journey to food sovereignty, troubleshoot greenhouse infrastructure and different growing methods together, and learn using the provided resources and education booklets. This forum is where we can chat openly and start discussions.

If you are just joining now, you may start by introducing yourself!

I'm Paige, and I'm the Marketing Director! I'm usually the one who bugs everyone for all the photos you snap during your project and the stories that go along with them 🙂 I'm based downtown Toronto as I wrap up my degree in Creative Industries, but you will rarely ever find me down here. In my free time, I love camping, drawing, hiking, rock climbing, roller skating, and really anything outdoors. Since I always have a camera in hand, my side hustle is adventure photography (one of my favourite shots attached)!

Have a question about starting a Facebook group for your build? Want to share a story on our blog? Want to just chat about the basics of photography? I'm your gal for anything media related!

I can't wait to get to know you more soon!

- Paige

I am Ray, and I am the Executive Director/CEO of Green Iglu. I am so excited to see this portal up and running, and hope it becomes filled with ideas and helpful resources for people working in food security and food sovereignty across the country. I have worked in education, greenhouse management in the north, human resources, tourism, financials... I used to call myself a Jill of all trades, but then Green Iglu hired one of those 😀

Hello! I am Ashley, I have a background in Biology from the University of Winnipeg. My prior studies primarily focused on native plants of Manitoba and their medicinal uses. I am working towards a second degree in Sustainable Resource Systems within the Environmental Sciences department. My goal is to gain sustainable solutions that benefit our future by protecting and conserving the valuable resources on our planet. My morals naturally coincide with Green Iglu's core values which I am very grateful and proud to be part of.

During my time off you will either find me in my garden or at a market so I can cook with the freshest or weirdest local ingredients, which is my biggest passion of all.

I have had the privilege of building domes in Mississauga First Nation, and Fort Severn First Nation (Ontario) and look forward to the many more places to explore and amazing people to meet all across Canada!

Hi All! I'm Zoha, the Marketing and Logistics Associate at Green Iglu. I've completed my bachelors in International Development and during my studies I loved my Environmental Sustainability and Food Security courses, which led me to Green Iglu! Now I get to work with an amazing team that is passionate about food sovereinty topics and I get to learn from each of the team members every single day 😌  Outside of Green Iglu, I like trying out new food, playing tennis and going for short hikes!

So excited that the community portal is now live and that soon it will be filled with discussions and resources 🤩

Hey all! I’m Jill, a project manager here at Green Iglu. I live on the north coast of BC, within view of Alaska on a clear day. I have absolutely loved the past year, working with this company and travelling & working in remote locations of Canada. I have seen places I wouldn’t normally and met wonderful people and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
